Who is Takuro?

Takuro is a Japanese comedian and one half of the manzai duo Nankai Candies, alongside Osamu. The pair won the M-1 Grand Prix, a national competition for manzai performers, which gave them wider recognition across Japan. In their act, Takuro plays the boke, or the one who says something absurd, while Osamu responds as the tsukkomi, the straight man who corrects him. Their comedy relies on timing, repetition, and the back-and-forth between these roles. Takuro also appears frequently on television, where his commentary tends to be blunt and occasionally sarcastic. He has taken on hosting roles and promotional work over the years. In 2026, he is scheduled to appear at an event at Expo Memorial Park, centered on food and live entertainment.
