Silica Gel is a South Korean indie rock band that has become one of the most dynamic and unpredictable forces in the country’s music scene. Formed in 2013 and hailing from Seoul, the group initially emerged from the city’s vibrant Hongdae club circuit. The core members—vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Kim Geonjay, guitarist Kim Chunchu, drummer Kim Hanjoo, and bassist Choi Woonghee, who joined later—are known for their eclectic and theatrical live performances, which often blur the line between concert and avant-garde performance art.
