Hibiya’s Spring Celebrated with Sustainable Artificial Flowers
"Hibiya Blossom 2025" continues its tradition, adorning Hibiya with sustainable artificial flowers, embracing the theme of "Art & Flower." The event transforms Hibiya Step Plaza and Hibiya Naka-dori into vibrant, picturesque spaces, heralding the arrival of spring.
A highlight of this year’s event, titled "Wicked the Musical presents Flower Dome," is a colossal flower dome, measuring approximately 4 meters in height and 9 meters in width. This installation, a collaboration with the popular movie "Wicked the Musical" (scheduled for release on Friday, March 7th), will be on display at Hibiya Step Plaza from Wednesday, March 5th, to Sunday, April 6th. Concurrently, Hibiya Naka-dori will feature "Botanical Street," showcasing flower art on streetlights, benches, and other urban elements, creating an immersive floral experience throughout the "Hibiya Blossom 2025" period. These installations offer visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a world of flowers.
Furthermore, Mitsui Fudosan Group extends the spring-themed festivities across four of its facilities (Tokyo Midtown, Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, Tokyo Midtown Yaesu, and the Nihonbashi area). Each location will host unique events, centered around the theme of flowers, allowing visitors to experience the diverse facets of spring’s arrival.
Wicked the Musical presents Flower Dome: Key Attractions
The centerpiece of "Hibiya Blossom 2025" is the "Wicked the Musical presents Flower Dome," a breathtakingly colorful structure showcasing the world of the movie, crafted from over 15,000 artificial flowers.
Exterior Design: The dome’s exterior is a vibrant spectacle of green and pink, reflecting the iconic colors of the movie’s protagonists, Elphaba (the "Wicked Witch") and Glinda (the "Good Witch"). This striking color contrast creates a visually captivating introduction to the installation.
Interior Immersion: Step inside the dome to be enveloped in a world of colorful flowers, inspired by the movie’s enchanting scenery. The immersive design allows visitors to fully appreciate the unique beauty and vibrancy that artificial flowers offer.
Nighttime Spectacle: As evening descends, the dome transforms with a special lighting production that accentuates the green and pink contrast. Every 10 minutes, from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, a dynamic light show synchronized with the songs "Defying Gravity" and "Popular" from "Wicked the Musical" further enhances the experience. The first performance begins at 4:00 PM, with the last at 10:50 PM.
Grand Staircase Harmony: The adjacent grand staircase area complements the dome with a diverse array of flowers, creating a harmonious and picturesque setting reminiscent of another world.

"Botanical Street," located in the Hibiya Naka-dori area, reimagines everyday urban elements as works of art. Streetlights, benches, and their surroundings are adorned with floral arrangements, transforming familiar sights into photogenic displays.
