Sony Park Exhibition 2025: An Exploration of Creativity and Technology

A Unique Collaboration Between Six Artists and Six Facets of Sony

The Sony Park Exhibition 2025 offers a novel, experiential program that seamlessly blends the creative visions of six unique artists with Sony’s cutting-edge technology. This exhibition delves into six diverse fields that form the pillars of Sony’s business: Music, Semiconductors, Finance, Games, Entertainment Technology, and Film. Each artist has crafted an immersive experience that reflects their interpretation of these themes, providing visitors with a multifaceted journey through the intersection of art and innovation.

Part 1: January 26 – March 30, 2025

The first part of the exhibition, running from January 26 to March 30, 2025, features three distinct programs:

◆ ‘Music is a Journey.’ / with Vaundy

Vaundy’s "Music is a Journey" transforms the second basement floor of Ginza Sony Park into a "Musical Strata" space. This immersive environment, curated around the theme "The Vague Strata of My Heart," features approximately 200 songs handpicked by Vaundy. Visitors can embark on a musical excavation, using headphones to unearth tracks that transcend genres and eras, experiencing music as a journey through time and emotion.

◆ ‘Semiconductors are Sci-Fi.’ / with YOASOBI

YOASOBI’s "Semiconductors are Sci-Fi" presents a participatory musical experience titled "HEART BEAT: Resonance." This program utilizes the song "HEART BEAT," originally created for NHK General’s "YOASOBI 18 Festival," which incorporated messages, writings, and performance videos from 1,000 18-year-olds across the country. Visitors can have their heartbeats sensed and transformed into personalized "heartbeat objects," which then resonate with those of YOASOBI members Ayase and ikura. The experience is further enhanced by a "Haptic Floor" that vibrates in response to visitor movements and the "heartbeat objects," creating a truly immersive and interactive environment. These generated heartbeat objects can be taken home on a smartphone.

◆ ‘Finance is Poetry.’ / with 羊文学 (Hitsugi Bungaku)

Hitsugi Bungaku’s "Finance is Poetry" occupies the 4th floor of Ginza Sony Park, featuring a tranquil space centered around a large basin of water. The main program, "Floating Words," highlights the band’s lyrics, offering a unique musical experience where music, lyrics, water, and light converge. Visitors are guided by the ephemeral visuals of Hitsugi Bungaku’s words appearing and dissolving, accompanied by the specially recorded voice of Moeka Shiozuka. This creates an immersive world set to the sounds of "more than words" and "Hikaru Toki." Additionally, Sony’s haptic technology, "Active Slate," allows visitors to feel as though they are walking along the water’s edge, further enhancing the sensory experience.

Part 2: April 20 – June 22, 2025

The second part of the exhibition, scheduled from April 20 to June 22, 2025, will showcase three additional programs:

  • ◆ ‘Games are a Social Gathering.’ / with BABYMONSTER
  • ◆ ‘Entertainment Technology is the Street.’ / with Creepy Nuts
  • ◆ ‘Film is a Forest.’ / with Kensuke Ushio
