Takanawa Festival of Ice and Light 2024-2025: Craft Bamboo Lamps & See Stunning Ice Sculptures at the Prince Hotel

Festival of Ice and Light: Experience the Magic in Takanawa

Experience the magic of winter at the Prince Hotel’s Japanese Garden in Takanawa, Tokyo, with the return of the "Festival of Ice and Light." Building on last year’s popular "Takanawa Nijurokuya" moon-viewing experience featuring over 400 bamboo lights, this year’s festival promises an even more enchanting spectacle. ✨

New this year is a captivating "Himmeli" installation. This traditional Finnish good luck charm adorns the dome-shaped bamboo Christmas tree, creating a truly unique and radiant centerpiece.

But the magic doesn’t stop there! For a limited time, marvel at stunning ice sculptures crafted by the hotel’s world-champion ice sculptors. These frozen masterpieces will be illuminated by the warm glow of the bamboo lights, offering a breathtaking visual experience.

Want to create some magic of your own? Join our first-ever "Bamboo Light & Himmeli" workshop, led by instructors from "CHIKAKEN," a renowned bamboo light production group, and "Himmeli no Oka," a celebrated Himmeli artist. Craft your own lampshade and capture a memorable photo with your creation at the ice sculpture photo spot. Then, take your lampshade home and let its gentle light remind you of your magical winter experience.
