Homes, schools, shops – these structures provide the framework for our lives, their walls whispering stories of times gone by.
In our era of rapid urbanization, cities transform at a dizzying pace. Familiar landmarks disappear, replaced by new structures that rise with astonishing speed. This cycle of destruction and creation raises a crucial question: how can we design architecture that not only preserves the memories of the past but also shapes the memories of the future?
The 2024 Daegu Architecture Competition invites you to explore this intricate relationship between architecture and memory. By contemplating the potential of future memories embedded within our built environment, we can begin to understand how architecture can mold our collective identity for generations to come.

Challenge: In a world of constant change, how can new architecture shape the memories of our future?
Eligibility
The competition welcomes submissions from university students currently enrolled in (or on leave of absence from) a relevant design program:
Challenge Class: 4th and 5th year students in a 4-year or 5-year university program in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or design.
Novice Class: Students enrolled in a relevant program at a junior college, or 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year students in a relevant 4-year or 5-year university program.
For group submissions, the highest grade level among the participants will determine eligibility.
