The Cheonan World Dance Festival, first held in 2003, has been selected as a Regional Representative Performing Arts Festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for six consecutive years. Since 2020, it has been designated as a "Prestige Cultural and Tourism Festival" by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Every year, over 800,000 domestic and international tourists visit the festival.
