Asakusa Hanayashiki is turning up the heat this winter with a serpentine celebration to ring in the New Year! From side-splitting comedy shows to a unique reptile exhibit, plus themed treats and surprise games, there’s something for everyone this holiday season. Get ready for a "snakey" good time at Hanayashiki from winter vacation through the New Year!
What’s New This Year?
2025 is the Year of the Snake, and Hanayashiki is celebrating with a special reptile and insect exhibit, "Exciting Snakey Level!? Hebiyashiki," featuring snakes and other amazing creatures! Test your skills at the mini-games for a chance to win incredible prizes, including live animals and toys. Plus, keep an eye out for "Snakey Food" options on the menu, adding a unique twist to this year’s festivities.

1. Laugh Your Way into the New Year with Shochiku Geino’s Comedy Show
Kick off your holiday celebrations with a hearty dose of laughter courtesy of Shochiku Geino. This year’s "Year-End Special Stage" promises a stellar lineup of comedic talent.

- "Happy New Year! Shuriken Dojo": Daily at 3:00 PM (except January 1st). Witness the Hanayashiki Ichiza’s hidden talents and try your hand at shuriken throwing (additional fee applies).
3. "Exciting Snakey Level!? Hebiyashiki ~ Insect and Reptile Exhibition ~"
Experience the thrill of encountering snakes and other fascinating reptiles and insects up close! New creatures will be featured each month, adding to the excitement.
- Dates: January 1st (Wed/Holiday) – April 6th (Sun), 2025 (Check the official website for park closures)
- Hours: 10:00 AM – 30 minutes before park closing (approx. 10-15 minutes per visit); 1:00 PM onwards on January 1st

- Cost: ¥800 (tax included, cash only). Free for children under 4. Elementary school children and younger must be accompanied by a junior high school student or older. Mini-games start from ¥500.

What is Hanayashiki?
Located in the Asakusa district of Tokyo, Hanayashiki is Japan’s oldest amusement park, originally opened in 1853 as a flower garden. Over the years, it has transformed into a popular spot combining traditional elements with modern attractions.
