What is Hanayashiki?

Established in 1853, Hanayashiki is Japan’s oldest amusement park, tucked away in the Asakusa district of Tokyo. Although small compared to today’s sprawling theme parks, it remains a favorite spot for both locals and tourists due to its unique blend of nostalgia and enjoyment.

The park offers a mix of classic attractions suitable for all ages. From a compact roller coaster to time-honored carnival games, Hanayashiki provides entertainment that harks back to a different era. Its well-tended gardens and cultural elements complement the rides, reflecting the historical ambiance of the surrounding area.

More than just rides, Hanayashiki embodies the charm of traditional amusement parks. It hosts seasonal events, live shows, and a variety of food stalls serving both international and Japanese dishes. Whether you’re looking for some lighthearted fun, a historical journey, or a leisurely walk through its scenic paths, Hanayashiki offers a memorable experience amid the vibrant backdrop of Asakusa.
