Mishmash Osaka in Toyonaka
As autumn deepens, Hattori Ryokuchi will host “méli mélo osaka,” an event recognized as one of the largest local culture fairs in the Kansai region. The event derives its name from a French phrase meaning “it’s fun when various things are mixed together,” a philosophy that defines the weekend. For two days, the venue transforms into a crossroads where a diverse range of cultural expressions—including music, fashion, art, gourmet food, and miscellaneous goods—intersect to create a multifaceted experience for the visitor.
■ Marche Area (shop / food / workshop) *Free Area
The Marche Area serves as the heart of the event, gathering a diverse collection of more than 150 stores over the course of the weekend. This expansive market features a variety of craft works, unique specialty shops, and gourmet food offerings, supplemented by experiential workshops. Visitors are encouraged to stroll through the entire park, utilizing the open space to discover niche interests and search for their own personal “likes.”
■ Hattori Ryokuchi Open Air Concert Hall *Nov 8 (Sun) only / Paid Area
On the second day of the event, the focus shifts toward musical performance with a special live event held at the Open Air Concert Hall. The lineup features a curated selection of artists—including Schadaraparn, Umeda Cypher, and FNCY—who will perform in a setting characterized by its openness. To integrate the music and market experiences, organizers are offering multiple types of “tickets with shopping vouchers,” which allow concert-goers to make purchases within the venue.

What is Hattori Ryokuchi?
Hattori Ryokuchi is a public park in Toyonaka City, at the northeastern edge of Osaka Prefecture. It opened in 1950 and is one of the larger green spaces in the area. The grounds include a central pond, walking paths, a botanical garden, open lawns, and several sports facilities.
The central pond is surrounded by paths used for walking and jogging. Seasonal changes are visible in the trees and plantings: cherry blossoms in spring, foliage in autumn, and bare branches in winter. The paths connect the main open areas to the park’s cultural facilities.
The Hattori Ryokuchi Japanese Farmhouse Museum is located on the grounds. It contains several traditional thatched-roof houses, including a minka from the Edo period, relocated from their original sites. The buildings are open to visitors, with explanatory material on construction methods and daily life. The museum gives a concrete sense of pre-modern Japanese housing.
Also within the park are a botanical garden with thousands of plant species, a large lawn plaza, a small golf course, tennis courts, and a field athletics course for children. These facilities are distributed across the park, so it is possible to move between quiet areas and more active zones without crowding.
Hattori Ryokuchi is served by Hattori Ryokuchi Station on the Kita-Osaka Kyuko Railway, a short walk from the park entrance. This makes it accessible from central Osaka and northern Toyonaka. It is used by local residents for daily recreation, by school groups for excursions, and by tourists interested in the farmhouse museum.
For Méli Mélo Osaka 2026, the park offers practical advantages: enough space for events and visitors, existing cultural facilities, and a setting that does not rely on spectacle. It is a suitable site for an international cultural festival, with room for stages, stalls, and visitor movement while retaining quieter areas.
