Autonomous Cooperative-Driving & C-ITS based Mobility Technology and Service Support Competition

Calling all innovators in Cooperative Automated Driving and C-ITS!

To foster the development of autonomous driving technology and create related jobs, we’re hosting a competition for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the field of Cooperative Automated Driving and C-ITS. This competition aims to promote the use of public data from Living Labs and C-ITS initiatives.

Here’s what you need to know:

Competition Period: June 17, 2024 (Mon) ~ July 16, 2024 (Tue), 18:00 KST

Eligibility: Members of the Cooperative Automated Driving Industry Development Council.
Not a member yet? No problem! You can join during the competition period. Individual or consortium applications are welcome.

Prizes (Total prize pool of 60 million KRW):

  • Grand Prize (Minister’s Award from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport): 30 million KRW in research and development support
  • First Prize (President’s Award from the Korea Transport Institute): 30 million KRW in research and development support

What we’re looking for:

  • Innovative technologies and business models related to Cooperative Automated Driving and C-ITS that utilize Living Lab platform data.
  • We will select two promising teams and provide support for technology implementation.

Data Provided:

  • C-ITS control center collected data, vehicle-to-vehicle communication data
  • Participating companies/consortiums can also use their own generated data.
  • Data will be provided through the Korea Transport Institute’s Living Lab data sharing platform.

Evaluation:

  • Teams will be selected based on their business plans utilizing public data (Living Lab, C-ITS).
  • Final evaluation will be based on a service demonstration showcasing the technology implementation achieved during the support period.

Competition Categories:

Develop ideas for:

  1. Connected Services: Utilize C-ITS data, autonomous driving data, etc. collected through the Korea Transport Institute’s Living Lab data sharing platform.
  2. Public Services: Focus on autonomous driving and C-ITS public services that guarantee mobility rights for the transportation vulnerable and support public safety (user convenience, urban function efficiency, public safety services).
  3. Mobility Support Services: Support smart mobility based on personal mobility, connected cars, shared cars, autonomous vehicles, and public transportation.

Important Notes:

  • If a winning entry is found to have been submitted to other competitions, the award will be revoked and the runner-up will be awarded.

2. Sparta Mini Internship Program Schedule

  • Duration: July 1st, 2024 ~ November 1st, 2024 (4 months)
    • Total 18 weeks: Pre-internship Training (2 weeks) + Internship (12 weeks) + Career Support Program (4 weeks)
  • Days and Hours: Monday ~ Friday (Weekdays) 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Location: Online/Offline
    • Offline Location: Training Center near Gangnam Station

Eligibility:

  • Job seekers aged 15 to 34 who can commit to the full 18-week program.

Benefits:

  • Participants will receive a monthly training allowance of 600,000 won and a certificate of completion (upon successful completion of all program requirements).

Please note:

  • This is a training program, and therefore, participants will not be eligible for four major insurance coverage or a certificate of employment.
