What is Gyoza?

Gyoza are Japanese dumplings filled with a mixture of ground meat, vegetables, and seasonings. They originated from the Chinese jiaozi but have been adapted to suit Japanese tastes. Typically, gyoza are wrapped in thin dough and pan-fried, resulting in a crispy bottom and a soft top. They are often served with a dipping sauce made from soy sauce, vinegar, and sometimes chili oil. Gyoza can be enjoyed as a side dish, appetizer, or main course, offering a pleasing combination of textures and flavors.
