Nestled amongst the unique restaurants and distinctive atmosphere of the Yangjaecheon Cafe Street, the Yangjae Festive Salon offers a unique blend of local Korean culture and the lively social gatherings of a classic French salon. "Pungryu," meaning a lifestyle that appreciates elegance, leisure, nature, and art, perfectly encapsulates the spirit of this two-week festival. Explore diverse tastes and experiences through a variety of engaging programs designed to showcase the charm of Yangjaecheon Street.

This year’s salon builds upon the success of previous "Salon in Yangjaecheon" events, offering an expanded program with even more opportunities for community engagement and exploration of local culture. New additions include the "Daytime Drinking Humanities" program and an expanded "God-Life" series of Saturday workshops.

Running Salon: Embracing Yangjaecheon’s strolling culture, this program caters to both running enthusiasts and beginners.
Humanities Salon: Engage in thought-provoking discussions and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Yangjaecheon’s trendiest spots.
Saturday is God-Life Day: Discover new hobbies and passions through interactive classes led by expert hosts.
Sunday is Culture Night: Immerse yourself in the unique personality and philosophy of local creators through exclusive Yangjaecheon experiences.

What is Pungryu?

"Pungryu" (also spelled as "P’ungnyu") is a concept from Korean culture that refers to a way of life embodying the appreciation of beauty, nature, and the arts. It is often associated with practices like poetry, music, calligraphy, and tea ceremonies, and reflects a philosophical approach that values harmony, balance, and the joy of life. Historically, pungryu was embraced by scholars, artists, and practitioners in Korea who sought to live in accord with Confucian and Daoist ideals, incorporating mindfulness, aesthetic appreciation, and a connection to nature into their daily lives.
