2024 Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Youth Policy Proposal Contest

Calling all young minds of Gangwon!

Do you have ideas on how to make Gangwon a better place for youth? Share your vision and propose policies that matter to you!

Our Goal:

This contest encourages youth participation in shaping local policies by providing a platform to identify issues and propose solutions from their unique perspectives.

Important Dates:

  • Application Period: June 12th (Wed) – July 14th (Sun), 2024
  • Finalists Announced: July 23rd (Tue), 2024 (Website & Individual Contact)
  • Final Round: August 3rd (Sat), 2024, 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Korea Mine Rehabilitation Corporation Annex Auditorium

Who Can Participate?

Individuals or teams of youth residing in Gangwon Province aged 9 to 24.

Theme:

Feasible policy proposals for the youth of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.

Explore diverse areas such as:

  • Society
  • Culture
  • Safety
  • Climate & Environment
  • Labor
  • Digital

How to Apply:

  1. Download the application forms from the ‘Announcements’ section (Post No. 96) on the Center’s website.
  2. Complete the following documents:

    • [Attachment 3] Policy Proposal
  3. Submit both documents in PDF and HWP (original file format) via email to [email protected].

Place Prize Money Notes
1st Place KRW 1,000,000 Tax and other deductions are the responsibility of the recipient.
2nd Place KRW 700,000
3rd Place KRW 500,000

Preliminary Round:

Schedule Evaluation Period: July 15th (Mon) – July 19th (Fri), 2024

Results Announcement: July 23rd (Tue), 2024

Method 100% document screening by judges
Evaluation Criteria Creativity:

– Is the proposal distinct from existing policies?

– Does it reflect a youthful perspective with innovative ideas?

Logic:

– Are the supporting arguments and current problem analysis well-structured?

Social Need & Contribution:

– Does the policy address a relevant need within the youth community?

– To what extent would its implementation benefit youth?

Feasibility & Validity:

– Is the proposal realistic and achievable?

– Is it easily accessible and implementable by youth?

Schedule August 3rd (Sat), 2024, Korea Mine Rehabilitation Corporation Annex Auditorium (2, Segyero, Wonju-si)
Participants Top 10 finalists (individuals or teams) from the preliminary round
Judges 6 external judges
Presentation Format 5-minute presentation based on a revised PPT incorporating judges’ feedback and supplementary information.

Presentations must be in PPT format.

No modifications allowed after submission deadline (including on-site edits).

  • Submitted materials will not be returned.
  • Submissions are accepted via email only. Submissions by fax, mail, or other methods will not be accepted.
  • Please contact the person in charge after submitting your documents via email to confirm receipt and prevent any loss due to technical errors.
